Snow Geese

A Pair of Snow Geese - November 27, 1998

On the day after Thanksgiving in 1995, I went to Brigantine and was treated to the spectacle of tens of thousands of Snow Geese in the air at once. I could not believe the spectacle as these masses of birds flew in to the refuge. Flock after flock after flock came. Many of them flew only a few feet over my head. The calls of the geese and the sounds of their wings only added to the thrill of that experience. I have made it a point to go back to Brigantine on the day after Thanksgiving every year since then. The experience has never been duplicated, but I have always seen enough Snow Geese to make the trip rewarding.

And if the great flocks are not there, I still have the opportunity to enjoy watching the individuals.
