Most people think of Jones Beach as the place to go in summer for swimming and sunbathing. But when the sun worshippers are gone, it is a fantastic place to watch birds. Located on the Atlantic Flyway, Jones Beach funnels warblers, sparrows, hawks and many other types of birds during migration. It is not uncommon to find many of the northern species of ducks, sandpipers, and owls spending the winter here.
